Akbar Abul-Fath Djalaluddin, third Mughal Emperor of India (1556-1605), was born at Amarkot in Sind under the protection of Rana Virsal. Humayun had also taken refuge at Amarkot.

The Commissioner's office which issued currency was abolished and was substituted by the Governer of the RBI. The issue offices scattered around the country came to be called as the regional offices of the Reserve Bank.
