Amrik Kamoh brings together an interesting blend of professional, educational and cultural success in a complex character. Mr. Kamoh's recently retired from US Postal Service as award-winning district manager of Business mail (marketing) in Seattle, Washington. Other see him as a successful real estate broker. In additions, he runs his own fuel (oil) business in the greater Seattle area. Most interestingly, he has marked great influence on Indian arts and culture in Washington State in America.
Mr. Kamoh has played major role through active participation in community organizations.
As president of India Arts & Heritage Society, Mr. Kamoh has been instrumental in promoting Indian arts and culture. This organization arranged many programs such as Diwali, Baisakhi, classical and folk dances programs as well as shairy presentations in the preceding years.
Mr. Kamoh actively participated in the National Federation of Indian American Associations (NFIA) 2016 national conference. Previously, he was also director of the Apna Sangeet radio station in Seattle, where he hosted popular talk shows and the renowned Tarranam music program. After settling in Seattle in 1977, he launched the Music and Cultural Society of India, a nonprofit organization whose objective was to promote East Indian culture. He was its president through 1985, during which time he was also director of the Ethnic Heritage Council of the Pacific Northwest. Throughout all of these efforts, Mr. Kamoh's goal has been to preserve classical Indian arts and culture in America, where he has always build the pressure on Indian immigrants to assimilate into mainstream American culture is strong.
From 1985 through 1989, Mr. Kamoh was secretary in the Guru Nanak Sikh Society Gurudwara in Renton. He holds a degree from Colorado Technical University in marketing, with additional coursework in project management. Before coming to the United States, Amrik earned a doctor of homeopathic medicine degree in 1973, followed by a degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Punjab University.
Amrik has been blessed with great health, his wonderful wife, Bhupinder, and three children, as well as the means to enjoy worldly successes. He has learned that spiritual well-being is extremely important to achieve inner peace. Amrik is also grateful for his circle of friends, without whom he would not be where he is. He is thankful to the community that has shown him the meaning of life, helping him to unveil his inner strength.
